The Integrated Family Support Hub, in partnership with qualified paediatric specialists, have created a suite of parent information workshops and sessions designed to assist our parenting community gain an understanding of child development and various milestones for children 0-5.

We do this to assist parents gain a greater understanding of where their children should be tracking towards developmentally and to assist identifying any delays in order to seek early intervention/assistance.

A shortage of Paediatric specialists in our region means wait lists and cost remain high for families in need. These workshops provide an opportunity for families to access some assistance while they remain on waitlists.

Programs include:
HAPPY KIDS ARE HEALTHY KIDS (Nutrition) – Jody Walker Naturopathy
WELL BALANCED WOMAN (Women’s health)– Jody Walker Naturopathy
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY WORKSHOPS – Move and Play Paediatric Therapy
BABY + CHILD FIRST AID – Baby Ed Australia

Each term, Integrated Family Support Hub celebrate different occasions and at times host special playgroups with additional activities centred around things such as NAIDOC week, Child Protection Week, Day for Daniel etc. Keep an eye on our Facebook page where all these events are announced and advertised.

The program works with the Mackay Child Friendly Community Action Group (MCFCAG), a group of local community and government representatives dedicated to building a safer and friendlier environment in our community for children and their families.

“Child protection is Everyone’s business.  The responsibility lies with the adults in keeping children safe from harm.  All members of society need to play a part in ensuring children are nurtured and safe.  ”
