Meet the Team

  • Nicolette

    GENERAL MANAGER

    Nicolette is a 'born and bred' Mackay local having attended both primary and secondary school in the region. Nicolette graduated with a Bachelor of Laws in 2006 and spent several years in the legal industry before embarking on a career change and gaining skills in the areas of stakeholder engagement, strategic planning and project management. Nicolette commenced with The Neighbourhood Hub in January 2016 and has a strong interest in community development, the power of collaboration and is passionate about local communities building resilient and socially connected communities.

    SENIOR PROGRAM COORDINATOR

    Hailing from "Cockroach Country" Alex has a varied employment history which includes early childhood, employment services and mental health. With a passion for social justice and healthy families (in all their shapes and sizes), Alex has been with the Hub for five years, most recently coordinating the Good Beginnings Home Based Family Support Program.

    HR & FINANCE COORDINATOR

    Pioneer Valley born and bred, Kym takes pride in working for such a long standing local community organisation. Kym's role in HR & Finance allows her to combine many years of administration experience with her passion to support the TNHub Team and Management Committee to make a difference in our local community.

  • Wasinee

    SENIOR ADMINISTRATION OFFICER

    Wasinee’s smiling face is the first greeting customers receive. This tells you a lot about where she is from, Thailand – The Land of Smiles. Wasinee's first contact with The Neighbourhood Hub was as a volunteer in 2019. Soon after, in 2020, she started her employment as an Administration Officer. Wasinee goes above and beyond to make all visitors at the hub feel comfortable and she is always eager to help them with anything they need. Wasinee has excellent administrative and management skills, which has enabled her to take on the role of Volunteer Placement Coordinator, recruiting new volunteers and placing them with different programs. As Senior Administration Officer, Wasinee is integral to the smooth running of The Neighbourhood Hub.

  • Brooklyn

    ADMINISTRATION OFFICER

    Brooklyn started at The Neighbourhood Hub in 2019 as a School Based Trainee and in 2020 became an Administration Officer. Brooklyn is passionate about creating a safe and supportive environment at The Neighbourhood Hub for all of Mackay community to access. Brooklyn loves helping find a suitable pathway for people who present at The Neighbourhood Hub and seeing them get the support they need.

    ADMINSTRATION OFFICER

    Nat moved to Mackay from Brisbane in 2016. Nat has recently joined the Neighbourhood Hub Team in early 2024 as an Administration Officer. Nat has a background in Business Administration in mining and the education sector. Nat has been volunteering at local community organisations for the past 7 years. Nat is passionate about helping our local community in particular children and family. Nat is looking forward to learning more about the community service sector and different cultures.

    ADMINISTRATION OFFICER

    Sarah has made her journey from the Pyramids' land to the land down under, holding her passion for helping people. Along with her studying years of Economics bachelor degree, she was an active member in charity groups supported by the university. Passion continued on as she was appointed to the community services lead at the Egyptian Ladies Association in Qatar. Being a migrant in Australia, she acknowledged the challenges that face newcomers, so she utilised her expertise to facilitate and ease their relocation. Working for the Neighbourhood Hub allows her to direct her experience in Office Administration to community services in Mackay.

    ADMINISTRATION OFFICER

    Nana moved to Australia from Thailand in 2008. While studying Business Administration and raising a young family, she worked in the hospitality industry for 10 years. Nana began volunteering at The Neighbourhood Hub in 2022, before commencing in her role as an Administration Officer with The Neighbourhood Hub. Nana now combines her customer service and administrative skills to create a warm and welcoming experience for all who require assistance.

  • Wayne

    MAINTENANCE OFFICER

    Wayne initially started volunteering with The Neighbourhood Hub before moving into the role of Maintenance Officer. Wayne has a passion for the outdoors, enjoys gardening and always puts 110% into every job he does. Both of the Centres are looking spick and span since Wayne commenced in his role.

  • Zoe

    CENTRE COORDINATOR

    Zoe has recently relocated to Mackay from NSW and commenced her role in 2024. Zoe has extensive experience in community engagement and coordination over a range of programs from her previous roles. Zoe is passionate about reducing social isolation and empowering others.

  • Toni-Marie

    MACKAY REGIONAL FINANCIAL WELLBEING COORDINATOR

    Toni-Marie has a passion for adventure and physical activity and is known for her drive to regularly explore and participate in new experiences. Toni-Marie has a diverse background in Community Service since joining The Neighbourhood Hub team in 2018, which has led to her taking the leap into commencing a Bachelor's degree in Social Work.

  • Tracey

    FINANCIAL WELLBEING OFFICER

    Tracey is a migrant originally from bonnie Scotland, emigrated to South Africa where she worked in the coal mining industry for many years. Since emigrating to Australia Tracey has completed a Bachelor's Degree in Business and a Graduate Certificate in Human Services and started at The Neighbourhood Hub in 2017 as a student placement and volunteer and in 2019 became the Financial Wellbeing Officer. Tracey has also worked in the Multicultural Programs within the organisation and is passionate about financial literacy and social justice.

  • Christie (CJ)

    COMMUNITY CONNECT WORKER

    Although new to The Hub, CJ comes to the Community Connect Worker role with plenty of experience in providing support to community members and families. CJ is enthusiastic about building and maintaining respectful working relationships with individuals, families, and community organisations, encouraging growth and empowerment to reach their full potential.

    INTEGRATED FAMILY SUPPORT COORDINATOR

    Toni joined the Neighbourhood Hub Team in 2012. During this time, Toni has worked across a number of programs within the orgnsiation, all with a focus on supporting children and families with a special interest in child development and child focused actvities. Toni is passionate about Child Protection and supporting child and parent/carer wellbeing.

    IFS HUB PROGRAM WORKER

    Chloe is a Mackay local with a background in early childhood education and care. Chloe has a special interest in all things children and families and enjoys providing families and children with engaging activities, information and connecting them to services that they may need.

    FAMILY SUPPORT COORDINATOR

    Cath commenced her role at The Neighbourhood Hub in 2019 as the Family Support Coordinator. Cath has a diverse background in Community Services having worked in Employment, Homelessness and Family Support services. Cath is committed to assisting families to improve their wellbeing and building their capacity to achieve their goals.

    GOOD BEGINNINGS PROGRAM WORKER

    Tanya commenced with The Neighbourhood Hub in 2023 as the Good Beginnings Program Worker. Tanya works from a place based approach that is both engaging and meaningful for local Mackay families.

    COMMUNITY RESILIENCE PROGRAM WORKER and TARGETED FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAM - COUNSELLOR

    Michelle joined The Neighbourhood Hub in 2023. Her love of people, social engagement and connection is her driving passion. Michelle joins TNHub with experience in community development and engagement, endorsing mental health and wellbeing and is an advocate for education and awareness in suicide prevention.

    TARGETED FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAM - CASE MANAGER

    Lucy has only recently joined The Neighbourhood Hub in 2024 after moving from interstate. Lucy is bringing with her experience working in youth residential care and case management of young people in the out of home care system which involved holistically supporting individuals with complex needs. Lucy has a passion for supporting vulnerable people to to feel empowered to achieve their goals.

    MULTICULTURAL PROGRAM COORDINATOR

    Kumusta?' is a popular greeting in The Philippines where Ela hails from. Ela started as a volunteer at The Neighbourhood Hub in 2017 before moving into the Administration position while also working as a Support Worker for the Intergrated Family Support Program at The Hub. Over the years Ela has taken part in other programs and is the current Program Coordinator for the Multicultural Community Programs. Ela is passionate about kids and working with Multicultural families being a migrant herself.

    MIGRANT SETTLEMENT PROGRAM WORKER

    Lyla commenced with The Neighbourhood Hub in 2023 coordinating the Migrant Settlement Program. Lyla is originally from China but has lived and worked in Queensland for several years. Having gone through the migration process and making Mackay her home Lyla knows how important having a support network is for new migrants. She is able to help new migrants to Mackay find their network and live and thrive in their new home.

    Starting as a Social Work student placement, Jennifer joined the team in 2022. As a Safer Pathways for CALD Women Program Worker, Jennifer achieves to promote confidence and empowerment within the CALD community of Mackay.
