Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to network, gain work experience and is a very rewarding way to give something back to the community .

If you are looking to become a volunteer for a well respected community centre, enjoy working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds and care about and respect your community then The Neighbourhood Hub is the place for you. Prerequisites for volunteering include a Police Check and Blue Card (working with children).

How to volunteer

Volunteering areas include:

  • Administration support (front of desk, answering phones, data entry, etc);

  • SecondBite Superstar (assist with the packing of food into hampers as part of donation collections from Coles on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays;

  • Family support (working with our coordinator to assist families as part of our Good Beginnings program)

  • Assisting with playgroups (setup, meeting families, etc)

  • Bus driving (collecting participants for World Cafe, Seniors Group, and Drivers Education)

Volunteering at The Neighbourhood Hub enables me to give back to those who are doing it tough in our community. The staff at The Neighbourhood Hub are an absolute pleasure to work with, they work under extreme pressure but always have time for a smile and a kind word to all the volunteers
