Providing support during times of emergency
The Neighbourhood Hub provides emergency relief, support and resources to the Mackay community.
Community Connect workers are based in Neighbourhood Centres to support to individuals and families with complex needs. This service helps link people to community and specialist support services, through referrals and tailored support.
The Emergency Relief Program provides emergency relief in the form of food hampers or fuel vouchers on a case by case basis.
This is a free weekly event where community members can access a meal, collect food donations, connect with other local Mackay community members as well as receive assistance with referral information.
With the support of Coles and Woolworths we have food donations available Monday to Friday.
Information has been made available in different languages by the Department of Home Affairs and includes information about visa category changes and entitlements.
